The guys head off for a relaxing stay at Yubaba's bath house this week as they discuss Hayao Miyazaki's 2001 Academy Award-winning film Spirited Away. Not only does Miyazaki's film display the limitless capabilities of animation and storytelling through that medium, it captures the similarly limitless imagination of children and gives credence to the worlds that they create. Chihiro's world is all too real — and all too frightening — and the guys talk about audience expectations in animation and how dark stories can be all the more effective when told through this lens. Spirited Away is a stunning example of filmmaking that can be experienced by viewers of any ilk; viewers of all ages will walk away from Chihiro's nightmarish experience having learned something important about the world. The guys also talk about their own worst jobs and what No-Face might be tossing out there that they just wouldn't be able to resist.
