This week, the Bit Players get a little weird with David Lynch's 2001 film Mulholland Drive, starring Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, and Justin Theroux. As it's a film that truly leaves a lot of things unanswered, a big discussion point is Mulholland Drive's narrative (or as some might argue, the lack thereof) and how important narrative is to the enjoyment of the film. Lynch is often cited as an intuitive filmmaker, so the guys struggle to come to terms with what that means in a world of fairly commonly linear storytelling in film, and how Mulholland Drive is almost meant to be experienced rather than simply seen. Since Clark notes that the film seemed to him to be "Days of Our Lives meets Goosebumps," they also break down their favorite R.L. Stine novels from the series and, in honor of Billy Ray Cyrus' appearance in the film, which one-hit wonder would be most devastating to find with a spouse in bed.
